The old town

No doubt the old part is the most visited place in Donostia/San Sebastián. It is located in the foothills of Mount Urgull, crammed into the harbour and the estuary of the River Urumea. The city was rebuilt following the 1813 fire and its streets, full of shops, restaurants and bars offering pintxos (miniature culinary masterpieces) and gastronomy societies present a lively atmosphere throughout the year.
